The Hungarian National Male Choir starts its season with a very special program: representing its new name, it will make its debut at the Musikverein in Vienna. The concert will feature international performers and will include the monumental work "Gurre-Lieder" by Austrian composer Arnold Schoenberg, conducted by Petr Popelka on 12 and 13 September.

The premiere of this work by the composer also took place at this location in 1913, and it is a fitting celebration of Arnold Schoenberg's 150th birthday. As part of a series of related festive events, the Hungarian National Male Choir will perform with artists such as Singverein Vienna and Philharmonic Choir Bratislava. The renowned Czech conductor Petr Popelka, Principal Conductor of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, conducts the choir for the first time, a very challenging and rewarding task. The concert celebrating the orchestra's 125th anniversary will be broadcast on ORF television.
