Within the framework of the Petőfi Program, in cooperation with the National Institute of Culture, the Honvéd Male Choir will visit schools, high schools and vocational schools in the sub-regional area with shows spanning genres, eras and styles, which will be presented 36 times in 2024 in a form that is understandable and easily digestible for children and young people.
The members of the Male Choir are all skilled vocalists, most of whom are also accomplished solo singers. The diversity of our programs is also due to the fact that the songs are often performed by solo, duet or small choirs. Many of the members of the male choir play different instruments: the use of these also adds color to our program, during which children discover the joy of singing, of making music together, of wondering together about the meaning of a performance, the connection between familiar melodies, the power of song and music.
With a small chamber choir (5-8 people), the following four themes are currently being implemented, with plans to add more in the future:
1. Topic: Hungarian (national) operas
2. Topic: Dramatic and comic characters from the world of opera
3. A journey through the history of music guided by the artists of the Male Choir
4. Folk music and poetry in the art of Zoltán Kodály
