MINKA x HUNGARIAN NATIONAL MALE CHOIR x BERNÁTHY: From soul to soul
Synesthetic electronic music project with vocals, choir, dance and video installation
A synesthetic electronic music project with vocals, choir, dance and video installation, to the poems of Endre Ady, Lajos Áprily, Mihály Babits, Tamás Jónás, János Pilinszky, Anna Szabó T., Árpád Tóth, Sándor Weöres.
During the all-night concert, exciting elements such as Hungarian poetry, electronic live act, solo and choral singing, unique visual effects and contemporary dance will be brought together on one stage.
In September 2021, singer Rozina Pátkai, the Honvéd Férfikar and electronic live act artist Zsiga Bernáthy met for the first time. This was the first time they experimented together, creating a completely new musical solution.
The result of the successful collaboration was presented in the form of a short, 12-minute concert, where Zsiga created the effects/themes largely by improvising live on the electronic basis, Rozina sang beautiful poems of Hungarian poets, entering at fixed musical points, and the performance was completed and made special by the elemental power of the choir. The visual background of the concert was mixed and tuned by Gábor Karcis, also live, to the given tracks and poems. The formation was joined by dance artists who performed improvised or rehearsed choreography in some scenes. The dance scenes were staged by choreographer Eugenia Vaszilenko and director/choreographer Balázs Petke.
From the very first moment, there was a chemistry between the performers - the artistic director/conductor of the Male Choir, Richárd Riederauer, Rozina and Zsiga - and every moment of the rehearsal process became an experience for them. It was already decided that the project should be continued, so in less than a year, in the summer of 2022, they performed an all-night concert at the Aquarium Club - "From Soul to Soul".
